Half of the sales will be given to EduMais, a non-profit organisation based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Their mission is to provide quality education to underprivileged children and teenagers in the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo favelas.

 

The COVID-19 pandemic will increase inequality and prevent access to education for most underprivileged children; the immediate concern being the health and well-being of students and their families. The congested space of the favelas makes social distancing impossible. In addition, the economic impacts of the coronavirus are particularly severe in these communities. Many families have lost all sources of income.

 

To support them through this difficult time, EduMais is currently fundraising for essential food and sanitation products. They also need money to buy digital equipment to provide access to education for children during this time of social distancing.

 

I believe that education is the most empowering force in the world. It creates knowledge, builds confidence and provides opportunities. For children, and these children in particular, it is the key to opening the door to a better life.
